JWHA Membership

Membership in the John Whitmer Historical Association gives you the following benefits:

A copy of the annual John Whimter Historical Association Journal, published at the end of each September, containing important new articles and book reviews in the field of Latter Day Saint history.
A one-year subscription to JWHA's quarterly newsletter, with information about upcoming JWHA events and other related news.
Discounted registration for JWHA's annual history conference held at a different historic site each September.
Discounted registration for the Restoration Studies Symposium / Sunstone Midwest, our annual theology and religious studies conference, held in Independence, Missouri every April.
Full voting rights at JWHA business meetings.

Our membership is composed of more than 400 scholars, students, and history enthusiasts from around the world.

Have You Renewed Your Membership?

Is your membership up-to-date? Check the mailing label on your latest newsletter to see if it is time to renew your membership. If you are not current, please renew today.

Please also consider renewing at the Sustaining ($75) or Patron ($200) level. Your extra contribution to JWHA helps us fund our student scholarships and other special projects, and makes a big difference in helping JWHA advance our mission.

Now you can join or renew your membership in both JWHA and the Mormon History Association in one easy step and save $5.00 in the process. Just select your preferred MHA membership level on the renewal form.

While you're renewing your membership, consider ordering back issues of the JWHA Journal that you might not have received or that you might use to complete your library. You can also order tapes of featured presentations at previous annual meetings and spring banquets, and current issues of Restoration Studies, our annual theology and religious studies journal.

Annual Membership Dues

Regular Membership: $30.00
Full membership in the organization with a subscription to the quarterly newsletter and annual journal, full voting rights at the annual meeting and a discount on registration for the annual meeting.

Spouse Membership: $10.00
Same as above except that the spouse shares the subscriptions.

Student Membership: $17.50
Full membership is offered at a reduced rate to encourage students to join the association.

Sustaining Membership: $75.00
Sustaining members are full members who provide an extra donation to help sustain the association's important initiatives and programs.

Patron Membership: $200.00
Patron members are helping JWHA with its long-term goals of growth and increased professionalism. Patrons will be invited to sit with the JWHA Presidency and keynote speakers at the Patrons' Dinner during the annual meeting.

Lifetime Membership: $1,000.00
Through a generous one-time-only donation, a lifetime member's name is permanently updated on JWHA's membership rolls.
