Please use this form to register for the 39th annual meeting of the John Whitmer Historical
Association from Thursday, September 22nd through Sunday, September 25th in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Most sessions will be held at the Joseph
Smith Historic Sites in Nauvoo, Illinois, and Conference Registration and Book Vendors
will be located at the Community of Christ Visitor Center. The Presidential Banquet on
Saturday evening will be held at the Warsaw
Brewery in Warsaw, Illinois.

| Thursday Night Lecture and Reception |
The conference will kick-off with our annual Sterling M. McMurrin Lecture
delivered by F. Ross Peterson, former President of Deep Springs College and editor
emeritus of Dialogue. Entitled "Community of Christ and LDS Church Responses
to Social Issues of the Modern Era," the lecture will be followed by an opening reception.

| Friday Awards Dinner and Address |
The Awards Committee will present JWHA's annual awards, following an address by
Richard P. Howard, Community of Christ Emeritus Church Historian, entitled
"The RLDS Church's Anti-Polygamy Stance Adapted/Canonized 1967-1972: The Specter
of Impending Schism."

| Saturday Nauvoo Area Bus Tour |
An optional bus tour will take participants to historic sites in the Nauvoo area.
Free options include walking tours of the Joseph Smith Historic Sites and Old Nauvoo
(for anyone interested), and sessions at the Nauvoo Illinois Temple (for LDS
recommend holders). Box lunches are not included in the bus tour, but may be
pre-purchased separately (see below).

Because restaurant options are limited in Nauvoo, box lunches will be
available for any conference participants who pre-purchase one,
even for those people not taking the bus tour.

| Saturday Presidential Banquet |
Address by JWHA President John Hamer, entitled "Mapping Mormonism and the
Latter Day Saint Movement" and the passing of the gavel to incoming JWHA president
Steve Shields.

Dorimtory-style housing is available in the Nauvoo House. If you choose this very
affordable housing at $15.00 per person, you will need to bring sheets, towels, pillows,
blankets, etc. The beds are twin bunks. Typically males are on the third floor and
females on the second floor. Call the Joseph Smith Historic Site for details at
